Armenia!
Helping refugees recover from trauma
In our child mental health psychosocial intervention “OperationSAFE” the story each day revolves around a little penguin names “Pete”. He is separated from his family when his ice shelf breaks off into the sea and find himself all alone.
This is very similar to the experience of children who have been through mass trauma, displacement, and uncertain futures.
Pete meets others on the ice shelf and together they try to find their way back but end up on the edge looking back towards the continent of Antarctica that they can never return to.
It is at this moment that the little group hears Aurora the whale singing. She sings,
Follow your heart Follow your heart Follow and believe.
.
She is the character that introduces hope.
It is the one thing that is most needed and yet the most neglected by aid agencies and child welfare.
I will fly to Armenia on Monday to train the churches in OperationSAFE
Listen to the audio to hear the amazing version of Aurora’s song that the church there recorded!

Thank you for your remarkable work, sir. As a biblical counselor I am inspired by your skills and insight.
