Published!
A quick victory lap.
After a year of agony in which my son underwent two operations to remove a brain tumor and my father died, I kept going over the poems I had written in the evenings to try and make sense of it all. In December before returning from Japan to Oregon to be with my mom for the first Christmas without dad, I submitted a very experimental manuscript to a publisher.
This manuscript was different than most poetry collections. It wasn’t polished revisions after the fact but dispatches from within ongoing trauma. I was trying to be as honest with myself and God as I possibly could. They were my private struggle to stay faithful as my world fell apart.
I sent it knowing full well that poetry is the very definition of a publishing long-shot. So imagine my surprise when within a week I received an acceptance letter. Well today after signing contracts, typesetting and cover design, the complete book is finally available.
For now it is for sale at the publisher’s website Wipf & Stock , or you can get it for Kindle on Amazon. The physical books will arrive soon.
If you would like to support this book I think the very best way would be to buy multiple copies, one for yourself and then gifts for your pastors and friends who are going through hardships themselves.
Thank you for being with me on this journey!
Blessings,
Jonathan E. Wilson
